Do I really need Google AdWords?
Hi I’m already on the front page of Google. Do I really need to bother with AdWords? Cheers Bill

We get that question often. In short I haven’t met a business yet that can’t benefit from a well set-up and managed AdWords campaign. You need to ask yourself whether you are ranking on the front page of Google for all the keywords that are profitable to your business. By profitable i mean the keywords that are generating enquires, bookings, products, sales or calls which are converting into revenue.
Most businesses rank for some keywords but are not really sure of the associated search volume or whether there are more profitable keywords they should be ranking for.
Our goal is ultimately to get ranked for the terms which bring the most people to our website that convert into sales.
Using the paid search options also gives you the opportunity to get immediate feedback on all elements of your site to find out what parts are working and what parts can be improved, which will ultimately help you rank higher on Google for keywords with greater search volumes and convert more of those visitors into paying customers.
Also, there is a lot of introductory info in the Paid Search tutorials which is expanded on later, so in terms of getting maximum value from the course, I would recommend at least being aware of it.
E.g. The Tracking and Keyword modules give you the basics in those areas which we build on in the advanced SEO and Google Analytics modules later. You won’t get full value from these modules unless you at least have an understanding of the basics in the paid search section.
So ideally I would recommend trying paid search to get a feel for it but if you choose not to, I definitely wouldn’t skip the section completely!
