Does Facebook Support Hyperlinks in the Content?
Hi, just wondering if there is a way in which you can add hyperlinks into your comment text on Facebook? Also wondering if you can advise of a way in which we can upload our weekly ‘What’s on Guide’ onto Facebook as a PDF format? Thanks Tanya
Hi Tanya, lovely to hear from you!
I am not sure I understand your question properly re: Facebook hyperlinks but all you need to do is write the website address in the comment and it works. E.g. if I want to comment on a post on your page i simply write my text then add the address like that http://www.mywebsite.com.
With regards to how to go about uploading a PDF to Facebook you need to 1) upload the PDF to your website via FTP for example 2) copy the link 3) paste it on Facebook.
I hope I have answered your questions

LikeHi Fabie, sorry I don’t think I used the right terminology by ‘hyperlink’! I meant if you write a word in your text e.g ‘activities over Easter’ and within that text there is a hidden link to our website without having to then write the actual link http://www.adventurewhitsunday.com.au/activities because it is so long! Also with the PDF file we wanted to add it without linking to our website (I know it would be best to for click through rates etc) but we wanted to make it simple and seamless for the user so they don’t have to hunt once on the ‘activities page’ for the ‘What’s on Guide’ as yet we do not have the What’s on Guide on it’s own dedicated page it links through from the activities page and again that link is quite long…? Thanks again Tanya

LikeHi Tanya,
Right, I get it. No you cannot create hyperlinks with anchor text on Facebook unfortunately (maybe one day?)
Re: PDF, sorry I don’t mean to send someone to your website but rather upload the file to your website, then copy the link to that file (e.g. http://www.adventurewhitsunday.com/activity.pdf) and paste that link. When ppl click the link it automatically downloads it for them. It doesn’t send them to a page. That would be the only way to do it as you can’t upload documents to Facebook. It won’t help with links though unfortunately. To find out the link to a document or image you have on your website right click it and go “open link in new tab” (or something similar depending on your browser).
