How do you contact Trip Advisor to report a problem?
How do you contact Trip Advisor to report a problem or can anyone suggest a fix?
Our property is one of two listed for BYFIELD QLD. If you do a search for Byfield trip advisor returns a result for 1 of 1 for a business known as Byfield Creek Lodge which obviously is not ours. Our business is called Rainforest Ranch and only shows after you open the page for Byfield creek Lodge as a business nearby. In other words we are not being listed on the first results page like we used to before the other business became listed.

Thanks for the post about your TripAdvisor listing, I am sure many other Australian tourism operators need support with this as TripAdvisor can be tricky to understand sometimes.
To ask TripAdvisor a question or to get support on TripAdvisor you can do it while being logged into your Owners page by following these instructions: http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g1-i12105-k3355728-New_Owner_s_Forum-TripAdvisor_Support.html. However, this might take time.
TripAdvisor however informed us that if you have any problem with your listing you may want to contact TripAdvisor directly through your owner centre: http://www.tripadvisor.com/help/owners. We have been advised in the past that your Destination Marketing Organisation would also be able to help. However, it seems that this isn’t the case anymore.
With regards to your problem, I have checked with Jim Brody from TripAdvisor directly a fortnight ago when he kindly accepted to answer a few questions for our MyWebSchool community members. What is happening is that because you are setup as Specialty Lodging you do not show in the Byfield search. It is a little silly I know but it seems to be how TripAdvisor is setup. Your best bet would be to change category. To do so please contact TripAdvisor directly.
Warren, I wouldn’t worry too much about it if they can’t change it as your listing is still fully visible on TripAdvisor. What I would focus on is getting more reviews and make sure you respond to the ones you feel deserve a response! You are doing very well with your 10 reviews already.

Edited in March 2012 – it seems that Australian DMOs cannot help with making changes to TripAdvisor listing despite their best efforts.

Like
