I’ve merged Facebook person to Facebook business. Why can’t I find anyone?
Since I’ve merged, I can’t seem to ‘search’ for people or places. Eg: I want to write a message on ‘Queensland Tourism’ (or similar) page but I can’t do a search for them. It seems I have to scroll through all our ‘likes’ to get there. Is there an easier way? Also, I’ve lost the general wall with everyone’s latest comments. Is that normal for a business page?
Hi Dana,
Thank you for raising this question it has actually sent me on a hunt to find some information. Looking at the further details that were linked to and the help content on Facebook it appears that the conversion has made your account into a business account as opposed to a personal profile with business access.
Facebook recommends to maintain your standard access that you link your personal account as an administrator on the new business page, this will give your personal account the access to the information for Queensland Tourism (etc) as you previously had.
The reason you can’t currently access these things is because a business account has limited access and not the same features as a personal account (they only allow you to freely see the content that you ‘own’ as opposed to all others content as well.
There is the ability to roll back to a personal profile however this request will be scrutinised by the ‘facebook gods’ and as such can only be done with a legitimate personal profile. The best course of action if this is not the case is to make your personal profile a page administrator.
Hopefully they helps out a little, it certainly raises the question of the benefits of a business account (not business page, a business page is absolutely beneficial!).
Cheers
Mel
